Senior Risk Auditor

A nationally recognized, West Des Moines based company is seeking a Senior Risk Auditor.  This is an immediate opening due to internal promotion. Apply your audit and risk expertise with this excellent opportunity!

The responsibilities of this position include:

• Perform control testing to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and NAIC Model Audit Rule
• Evaluate internal control procedures and IT business applications
• Plan and review the work of three direct reports
• Demonstrate strong organization skills, problem solving, and execution of projects to meet target dates

 The requirements for this position include a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of 6 years of related experience.  The successful candidate must have CPA and/or CIA certifications.  Insurance experienced is preferred.

Palmer Group Staffing Consultant

The primary responsibility of this role is to assist Palmer Group with the overall development of the Accounting specialty within our Staffing Division. This role is diverse and will include three primary areas of focus; Business Development, Recruitment and Placement and Account Management.  Generally, this position will be responsible for assisting our clients with the recruitment, evaluation and placement of top quality Accounting and Finance candidates into temporary, contract and temp-to-hire positions. These positions may vary from entry level through senior management and executive level roles, and will typically include the following:

• Accounting Clerk
• Staff Accountant
• Payroll Accountant
• Senior Accountant
• Financial Analyst
• Auditor
• Tax Accountant
• Controller
• CFO

Business Development:  Long-term relationship development is critical to our success as an employment firm.  Working individually and as a key member of the Staffing division this individual will develop and manage relationships with hiring managers such that Palmer Group is their preferred provider for accounting staffing needs:

• Establish and grow a list of target companies (up to 75)

• New business development through telephone sales calls and client visits

• Maintain productive working relationships with hiring managers

• Breakfast and Lunch meetings with hiring managers

• Attendance at industry specific networking events

• Continuous follow up with notes, emails and other correspondence

• Documentation in our “client database” of all communication with clients

• Cross sell other divisions of Palmer Group to current and prospective clients
